September SLP Link-Up

Can you believe it is September??  I cannot believe how fast the summer and this long weekend just flew by!! WOW!! Well, since it is a new month, it's time for another link-up with All Y'all Need!  Thanks for hosting--head on over to All Y'all Need to see everyone's posts!

Schooling:  I'm not in a school for my placements, but I am in school for classes (yay grad school!).  We just started a new semester.  I'm in Cognitive Communication Disorders, Motor Speech Disorders, and Fluency Disorders.

Excited:  On a similar note, I am very excited to tell you that I am entering my very last semester of classes!! (We have full-time clinicals next spring).  I am SO excited to be done in December.  I've been in school for a very long time and am starting to get burnt out.  There is a little extra motivation right now since it is the last semester.  Hopefully that will last awhile before senioritis kicks in!

Prepping:  I'm actually placed a nursing home and rehab center this semester.  I am starting to pull out my adult materials again and prep some new ones.  I don't really have my caseload yet, but I will be prepping like crazy once I do!!

Trying:  I am trying my hardest to stay balanced.  I sometimes sacrificed my social life when I was in undergrad, so I'm trying to maintain it now in grad school.  I've been blessed to find some really great friends down here, and I want to cherish every moment with them.  I'm also training for a couple of 5Ks and a half marathon.  Finding time to work out 6 days a week and have a social life while in graduate school is sometimes difficult.  I'm TRYING really hard to make sure it all happens without my cleaning and cooking suffering!

What are you schooling, excited for/about, prepping, and trying?

  1. I worked in a nursing home for a couple of years. If you have one that is a good rehab facility, you should stay very busy!
