What's in My Cart: August 2015 {linky party}

Speech Sounds by Letter Bookmarks

Last Friday, I posted about a new product, Speech Sounds by Letter Posters.  Be sure to check out that post.  Today, I want to talk about it's companion product: Speech Sounds by Letter Bookmarks!

These Speech Sounds by Letter Bookmarks are perfect for the busy speech-language pathologist who wants to send homework home with his/her students for practice.

Bookmarks for initial, medial, final, mixed, and blend sounds are included.  There are both color and black and white versions. 

These bookmarks are low-prep. Simply print, cut, and send home.

Speech Sounds by Letter Posters

I am so excited to share a new product with you today!!  They are something I have been working on for a little while now. 

These Speech Sounds by Letter Posters are perfect for your speech room or a traveling speech-language pathologist! Use these to teach your students how to make the sounds or use as a center for them to practice their sounds independently!

The front of the posters include the sound, the letter, a visual cue, and a written cue. The back of the posters include the sound, letter, visual cue, and a word list for practice.

 
The sounds included in this packet are:
B, P, K, G, S, Z, F, V, H, L, N, M, SH, TH, R, W, J (dg)

To prep this product, simply print all pages, fold on the center line, laminate, and go!  I like to print on card stock for extra durability.

I plan to put these posters up around a mirror to create a center where the students can practice their sounds. It will look something like this:

Articulation Vacation {app review}

I love the beach and vacation and everything to do with that.  I was thrilled to find out this was a theme for one of Virtual Speech Center's apps!  

First, enter your students' information in.  Once you add their names, you can select the phonemes.

Once you select the phonemes, you will also select the level that the students are working at.  Your choices are word, sentence, or paragraph.

The students will work their way through five different games:

• fishing- fish and catch objects with the target sounds
• beach treasure hunt- look for hidden objects in the sand
• picture-taking- take pictures of objects with target sounds
• parachute game- land parachutes of objects with target sounds
• postcards- read or listen to paragraphs with words with target sounds

You can record data as they work their way through the activity.  You can also add extra information in the notes section.

You can change the settings as needed.

At the end, you can view reports of the students' work and progress.

Overall, my students really enjoy this app.  The vacation theme and games are fun and motivating for them. I really appreciate the multi-player option, as well as the ability to select multiple target phonemes for each student.  The data collection and reports helps this busy school SLP.
